I discovered this place about 5 or 6 years ago when I was walking along the Rideau Canal one day after a college class. I really liked the play of light between the shadows and highlights on the steps, but at the time I only had a point and shoot slr-like digital camera. So last June I really wanted to go back with my good camera.

Just around the corner is the Canadian Parliament buildings.

Then just down the path a bit, there is a series of locks. I wish I thought to bring my tripod with me so I could do a long exposure of the water. So I had to rest the camera on a ledge.

Finally have high speed internet at home

I am finally in the 21st century, at home. :) You would think where we live we could get either cable internet or dsl, but no. We have been waiting for there to be an option for some time now, and we finally came across a couple. The first option fell through because we do not have line of sight to the tower thanks to a pesky mountain in the way. But I am glad that the other service works where we live. I no longer have to go to the library to upload large pictures or to place an order. :D Dial up worked for uploading web sized pictures, it just took a while. :)
