Waterfall and Nature - Free Wallpapers

Here are a couple free wallpapers from our trip to see the waterfall last Monday. I wanted to find out how far the waterfall was, just in case any clients wanted to go there for a family portrait, senior portrait or wedding/engagement. The problem is it takes about half an hour to hike the trail. Its an easy walk for most of it, but the part by the falls is a bit steep, but doesn't last long.

100 more images = $25.00

800 more images = $75.00
1600 more images = $100.00

Because of the sheer number of images, I will require them to be put on a cd/dvd and handed/delivered to me.

-- Additional Options --
Additional print options are available such as texture, coating, and backing.

Prints larger than 16x20 are available, as well as canvas prints.

* The larger the print, the better the mosaic looks because you can see the detail up close.

Big Falls, Between Lebanon and Cleveland VA

A friend of ours told us about some waterfalls over between Lebanon VA and Cleveland VA. It took about 20 minutes to hike to them, but they were pretty easy to get to, and there was a 2nd parking lot that would take 12 minutes off that hike time.

The GPS co-ordinates for the first parking lot is: N36°57.187' W082°03.309'. From here you get to cross a large swing bridge to get to the falls. :D

I believe the GPS co-ordinates for the waterfall is: N36°57.752' W082°03.236'. There was some tree coverage where I was when I was setting the GPS, so I don't know if the gps was reading the co-ordinates correctly. It was starting to rain, so I didn't take the time to get into a clearer area. Because of the rain I didn't get a chance to mark the 2nd parking lot either. Perhaps next time.

Thanks Barbie for telling me about the place. :D

Hayters Gap Waterfall, Revisited - updated with new link

I had to go to Bristol for a dental appointment last Thursday, so on the way home we decided to try to go to the water fall again. This time we were prepared with appropriate clothing.

The way down to the waterfall from the road side isn't exactly safe, if you loose your footing, you will be rolling for a while and right into the stream. By the time we arrived at the falls it was getting a bit to dark, so I had to hurry and get the 20 or so pictures. I am always learning things, and this time I learned that we should bring a flashlight next time! And perhaps some rope, to get down more easily and safely. I want to go back in January when there is some snow. The way up and down to the falls should be particularly interesting with the added ice, but the pictures should be worth it. :)

Free wallpaper - currently only wide screen resolution

Ive been busy getting some Christmas card designs ready to go. Eventually Ill take the time and create a regular screen size wallpaper of the above image, and post it on my site. :D

Hayters Gap Waterfall

My wife and I love waterfalls, especially those that make you earn the view after a hike.

This waterfall at Hayters Gap doesn't require a hike, but you do have to scale down the side of it to get this view. And we believe the path to this has poison ivy or something that causes itching. :)

We tried to find this waterfall last year when my parents came down for a visit, but we were unable to find it, mostly because the direction we came from was different than usual. We tried it again last Sunday, we thought we either missed it again, or it had dried up. On our way to Abingdon, VA, we found it!!!! Except we were wearing our Church clothes, so we couldn't hike down to the good part. But we marked the GPS so we can find it next time we are better dressed. :D
