Well its time for the kids to go back to school, so I thought it was time for a new promotion.

And with the new school year here, that means Autumn is just around the corner. Once again, the summer sure has flown by. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. Back in Canada, I had a 26 minute walk to the high school. I was lucky enough to live 5 walking minutes to close to the high school, to be able to take the school bus, but I didn't really mind. Had I lived closer, I would have had to get up earlier to catch the bus, and back then, I timed everything so I would arrive at the school about 1 minute within the bell would ringing, so I could sleep in as late as I could. Plus the walk wasn't that bad........most of the time. For most of the walk, it was nice back streets, full of oak and maple tree's and old architectural houses. Autumn was a nice break from the summer heat, but it was still warm enough to not need my winter clothing. Thinking back about my walk, I miss the way the crisp autumn air would smell.
This all reminds me of a scene from the movie "You've Got Mail".... Joe Fox: "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms. "
I didn't really care for the first day of school, but I did like getting school supplies. I was a bit of a strange kid, I loved getting stationary stuff. Of course I would use it to sketch, doodle, draw, etc. I did love getting a new protractor set every year. :D
